Kaido is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea in One Piece. He is a ruthless and powerful pirate that seems to be indestructible. Kaido, also known as “Kaido of the Hundred Beasts,” is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea in the world of One Piece. He’s also the man known as the strongest creature in the world as of now, meaning he has tremendous power at his command. Currently, Kaido rules over the Land of Wano in the New World with his Animal Kingdom Pirates also being stationed there. Although Kaido is a famous pirate, not a lot is known about him and as we explore Wano, we’re gradually getting to know more about the terror that is Kaido. Here are 10 things you should absolutely know about him.
1. Ability To Control The Weather
Kaido’s initial appearance at Kuri in his dragon form demonstrated his ability to somewhat control the weather. It is presumably connected to his Mythical Zoan powers, albeit how he accomplishes it is yet unknown. Nami, one of the best navigators, saw that Kaido’s arrival caused an unexpected and unbelievable change in the weather.
Contrary to popular belief, Big Mom, another Yonko, shares Kaido’s ability to control the weather. Big Mom uses Zeus and Prometheus to change the weather, but Kaido uses unidentified techniques to do it.
2. Kaido’s Bounty
Being one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, it’s easy to guess that Kaido’s bounty would be massive. Luffy, despite being on the seas for less than 3 years in total, has managed to acquire a bounty of 1.5 billion berries. Although Kaido’s bounty progression hasn’t been revealed by Oda yet, we do know that he had a massive bounty of 4,611,100,000 berries.
Interestingly, this is the highest-known active bounty in the world of One Piece right now. According to Brannew and Sengoku, Kaido’s bounty has only ever been surpassed by two pirates, Whitebeard, and Gol D. Roger.
3. His Record
It is well known to all that Kaido is a highly strong pirate. He is one of the most powerful individuals on the planet, but he is reported to have lost seven battles. In addition, he has been taken prisoner 18 times by his adversaries, competitor Yonko and the Marines. In addition, Kaido has experienced other forms of torture. His adversaries have even tried to have him executed 40 times, but they have always been unsuccessful. Again, the cause of this is unknown, but we are hopeful that Oda will soon unravel this riddle.
Yonko Kaido is renowned for being impenetrable; Oden’s Ame no Habakiri and Enma were the only weapons to ever injure him. He seemed uninjured, even after falling from 10,000 meters. He faced a barrage of Gear Third and Gear Fourth attacks in his battle with Luffy and hardly blinked. It is unclear whether his resilience stems from his Devil Fruit or from an advanced Ryuo technique. Another possibility is that he was born with a physical prowess, similar to Big Mom’s impenetrable skin.
5. His Devil Fruit
Kaido is confirmed to be a Devil Fruit user, and the fact that he can transform into a dragon seems to imply that that’s his Devil Fruit power, a Mythical Zoan Dragon. However, it must be noted that even after seeing so much of Kaido at Wano, his Devil Fruit powers haven’t been confirmed to be a Mythical Zoan Dragon at all. It is possible that Kaido is actually a dragon and his human form is some kind of Hito Hito no Mi Model. Whatever the case, his Devil Fruit is yet to be confirmed to us and it feels as though Oda wants to shock the fans with this massive reveal later on in the story.
Yonko Kaido is a powerful and mysterious character in the One Piece universe with a long, complex history. He is one of the most powerful characters in the series and has been featured prominently since his introduction. His motivations are still largely unknown, but he seems to be seeking world domination for some reason. Despite being incredibly strong, Kaido has also shown himself to have many weaknesses that could be exploited by enemies should they ever come face-to-face with him. It will certainly be interesting to see how this conflict plays out!
